Judy Seigel and Others:

Allow me to break out of LURK mode for a moment. At last! something a
simple art prof. can respond to!

My students use crock pots to maintain warm photo solutions. The pots
have removable pyrex or glazed pottery inserts that are chemically inert.
For small quantities of liquids, the crock insert is used as a water bath.
For larger amounts, the solutions are heated directly in the insert.
Crock pots are relatively cheap and seem to hold temperatures fairly
evenly. This works well for our color processing (tube processors) but
you might find this a bit of a problem for tray processing. Continually
shifting solutions from tray to crock and back can be troublesome. Still,
it's a way.

Hope this helps,
