A good source of French books, originals and reprints, (including
Poitevin's _Traité des impressions photographiques_, Paris,
Gauthier-Villars, 1883; Marseilles, Laffite reprint, 1983) is:

La Photo librairie, 49 Avenue de Villiers, 75017 Paris, France.
Tel: 011+33 1 42 67 50 12; Fax: 011+33 1 42 67 08 31. These numbers are
supposed to work from Canada. You may have to change the prefix.

If you are not fluent in French I suggest you use the fax or snailmail
instead of the telephone.

Pajerski in New York also has a pretty good selection of European books and
reprints: Fred & E. Pajerski, 250 West 24th Street, 4GE, N.Y., NY 10011,
USA, Tel/fax: (212) 255-6501. They seem to have access to e-mail, but they
don't broadcast it yet...
