I process all my Pt/Pd prints in a Jobo processor. When its running and I
want to process a second print, I use a Jobo drum on a plain old Beseler
agitator reversing drum roller. They both work great. The Jobo (CPP-2) is
quite handy since I can print 20x24 on a machine with a small footprint,
tremendously accurate temperature control, and easy exchange of solutions
(with their lift accessory). Since I use the Potassium Oxalate/Sodium
Dichromate method of contrast control, I keep many different
contrast-grades of developer heated in a tempering bath (I have a Jobo
there, too, but a Tupperware tub and aquarium heater would be just as good)
and processing in tubes means when I need to switch contrast grades I just
rinse the drum and use a new developer. No hassles with filling and dumping
trays, etc. I also like the convenience of putting a print in the drum,
turning on the machine and letting it run; it means for the few minutes in
each bath I can putter around with something else rather than hovering over
the tray and agitating and watching and agitating and watching. All round,
I think its the best game in town for processing film and prints.
