Percent solution is number of grams per 100 ml. of total solution.

So if you are making 10% Ferric Ammonium Citrate, you would take 10 gr.
Ferric Ammonium Citrate, disolve it in about 60-70 ml. water. After it is
completely dissolved, add water so that the total volume is 100 ml.

NOTE: This is not the same as taking 10 gr. chemical and add 90 ml. water.
