The only way to get good contact is to use vacuum. I've tried other
ways and you can see the difference in sharpness between a mechanical
frame and vacuum.
Translucent fairly thick plastic bags are sold for use in vacuum forming
and degassing materials. I used one of these and cut it up and mounted
it opposite a glass sheet and frame to print thru. It is a lot more
work, but the results are worth it. If you're doing this for
alternative processes where humidity of the emulsion is a factor, then
you must regulate how good of a vacuum you use or you will outgass all
of your water in the emulsion and lose your sensitivity.
