I received this mail (the quoted message), so I thought I should explain a
little.

<< Gee, I keep hoping that we'll someday get finished with this nosey
business. How much longer are we going to be runny this theme?

I am sorry about this. I don't know if you followed the thread. I was the one
who suggested not to continue any offensive messages. But on this particular
one, I wasn't talking about the pees just for the fun of it, but I am
actually interested in (at least the history of) it.

I came from the background of Chinese brush painting where I used to make my
prepare painting pigment. At one point, my teacher (an old Chinese painting
master) was even trying to prepare genuine indigo from dried indigo plant. We
weren't successful. He is still very much interested in the process while I
am not because I have learned that even if I can make true indigo from the
plant, the color would be fugitive, so it would be better to just use
Prussian blue or Thalo Blue (mixed with a little red and black to simulate
the hue of genuine indigo). He is a more traditional, conservative person who
thinks that in order to paint genuine Chinese painting, it is best if he can
use genuine materials same as those used by old masters.

Now I am not interested in making Indian Yellow from buffalo pee, but I think
he is (at least just for the sake of trying it once). It is like many alt.
processes, the do-it-yourself part interests many. And in the country where
he is living, I believe he can get some buffalo pee!

Now I do understand that this starts to really gross some people out, and I
apologize for it. But what I am trying to say is that I was not saying this
gross thing just as a gross or dirty joke. I was discussing it for some real
interest. But consistent to my philosophy, I agree to stop talking about it.
