It seems that you may be stuck. The problem may not be as it appears.
The advice offered below will most likely differ from other advice
received. However, I hope that you will find it helpful.
Start by deciding on your "product materials". (It seems you have chosen
cyanotype.)
Next, discover your "transfer materials" (such as film and processing).

This can only be done through experimentation and your own experience.
Do not get stuck on tonal range and contrast of the negative. Rather,
employ whatever tools to get the final image to be what you see. This
may lead to trying a different film or developer or even to different
"product materials". Experiment to find what works for you. This may
be as someone else does or may be totally different. Study the various
techniques presented, but always be sensitive as to what works for you.
Try to keep in mind what it is your attempting to do; not just how to
get there.
