Re: RAPP w/o Web access?

David,

We have an angel on our list. Marylin Dalrymple is going to be entering
Philip Trauring's list into the RAPP database. I am sure she wouldn't mind
entering in one more. If this gets to be a big deal, we can ask for more
volunteers.

Give me a day or so and I'll come up with an e-mail form that can be mailed
out. As for output, we can e-mail the Acrobat PDF file or the HTML (which
ain't too pretty) file to individuals requesting it. I think there is a
real possibility of making a paper edition and charging what it costs to
print and mail it. If it were 50 double sided pages just stapled it might
costs $7.50 to print out and send. If it were to be comb bound and had nice
covers maybe $10.00 to $12.00. Fifty pages would be @300 names, you can
figure equivalent costs for more names. Of course we could use this
document to raise a little money for the APIS events and organization. This
would be especially true if we could put a couple of images from each
person in the file. With the new printing on demand they're doing with
things now we could get 600 DPI or better output in small quantities at
somewhat reasonable prices. It wouldn't be cheap, but my guess is that if
we had 300 names and 3 @ 2x3 inch images per person it would be in the
$50.00 - $100.00 price range. Of course not a runaway bestseller but
something the industry (galleries) might feel the need to have. Someone
with more familiarity with very low volume printing technologies could tell
me if I am in the ballpark on this.
