My sites statistical summary I get from my ISP shows 119 downloads of the
RappSheet.pdf file, so people are looking at it. Once the numbers start to
climb into the hundreds, it will be quite a valuable resource. An
interesting aspect is we are getting more from the international scene than
from the US proper. Statistically hits to my site are 25 to 1 US to non US.
So far we've got 3 from Scandanavia, 3 from Australia, 2 from Brazil, a
bunch from Canada, Europe and so forth. I will have a regional report up
the next time the report is posted.
I am picking up a few registrations from folks coming through the front
door of my own site. I have also had a few folks subscribe to the list from
the semi-automated subscription facility I have set up.
I intend to enhance this once I get a better handle on CGI and perl
scripts. I am currently doing battle with my host site who treat CGI
scripts as poison. For now, my auto-subscribe area is pretty simple to
follow and it is the easiest way for folks to subscribe and unsubscribe to
the List. Anyone out there who has a web site and wants to help the list
grow can put a link to:
http://www.bostick-sullivan.com/rapp/subscribe.htm
in their site. Folks will go straight to it and won't get spammed by B&S on
the way in.
If there is a Javascript junkie out there that wants to write a subscribe
and unsubscribe button for the listserve group, I'd be more than happy to
put it up and even name after the author. I've got my Javascript for
Dummies book on my lap right now. I'm trying to learn perl and javascript
at the same time. Like the sticker says, "Visualize whirled peas." My mind
is a whirl right now. It'll get done eventually.
