Got me to thinking after reading Karls Book - would these Epson outputs
be suitable for his "Gumoil Process".

For those of us with slide librarys (many images on .pcd) could we just
go straight from .pcd disk to Epson (output on film) and then to a fine
art process like Gumoil/Ziatype - *sounds real easy to a novice* no
FedX, no lab and no pratting around in the dark!?! Is an 18mb .pcd RGB
scan going to cut it as far as file size is concerned or do we need a
pro 72mb RGB scan? I would imagine that even the most mundane image
could become quite striking when *tweaked a little* in photoshop then
out-putted to an Epson and popped onto an Alt.Process paper (more
sales).

I pressume some processes are more forgiving as far as resolution is
concerned, I'd appreciate suggestions as to which process may or may not
work with inkjet outputs! Would the use of a textured printing-paper
surface be benificial with these negatives etc.

Dick, please outline the cost for an 8x10 Ziatype. I read the article
in "Photo Techniques" (if I remember correctly). I assume we're only
looking at a couple of bucks for the Epson output? It looked from the
article that Ziatype could be a good way for Alt.Process novices like me
to go (cheap hopefully too). Keep us posted on the Epson/Ziatype
experiment, I for one am very interested in your progress!
