Fresson again

Ok, folks, I know I'm inviting the wrath of many on this list, but I
just saw a suite of Fresson prints of images by Cy Twombly, of all
people, here in New York at the Matthew Marks Gallery - we're talkin'
big time, big money here. There were eight prints of tulips from about
ten years ago, and I gotta say - they looked like Iris prints (I've seen
Nash prints with more richness)... The texture was unlike the Metzner's
I've seen before and more like trying-to-hide-the-digital-trace; could
it have been from the original negative (although this was circa 1988!)?
Also there was no beautiful chalky rich black (probably also the
original...)
Maybe it was the fact that they were behind glass...
Is there quality control with the Fresson lab?
Anyone know the deal with these prints?
