The question of waxes is not totally straightforward. Conservation
resources (and others also, I suspect) sell a product called "Renaisance
Wax" which is touted as "acid free" so there may be some reason for concern
with floor wax. There is a web site called COOL for COnservation On Line,
primarily concerned with museum and library issues where one might find more
about waxes. I have attempted to attach the URL to this message for those
who want to pursue it.
