Read somwhere the idea was to print out the file to acetate transparency,
but after giving it some thought, some interesting problems arise, first in
line being "color" depth... platinum, to what I understand, reproduces about
600 shades of grey (or brown;=).... standard color depth for b&w is 256
shades... then comes the scanning problem... a decent continuous-tone
printer kicks out about 300 lpi, wich would get us to, assuming an 8x10
print, something like 3200*4000, and something like a 50 meg file... what
kind of scanner can get that out of a 2/14*2/14 negative ?
that'll be it for now... any help would be greatly appreciated...
