And surely I'm not the only one has looked into the "junk" pile years
later and found -- treasure. Sometimes beginners, striving for one thing
they didn't reach, miss the good, maybe *better* thing they did reach.
That's easier to see with students, of course, than with your own work.
(Although I must add that students are not always persuaded...)
