Martin,
I do understand that you and many other people on this list are
disappointed that APIS 2000 in Cologne had to be cancelled and how this
was announced to the list. There were many reasons for this decision, most
of them of personal nature, so I won't comment on them publicly. There are
other people who have to answer you for this decision, I am probably the
one here who feels most sorry about it.. You wrote:
>Noisily You reclamed to organise APIS in Cologne<
Sorry, but I don't know of any "noisy reclamation". And as you claimed that
"We are all gentlemen [...]" I find your "congratulation" for a
cooperation which you yourself turned down, before our organisation team
had an opportunity to discuss it, quite surprising and not called for.
Please remember the facts: On n07 Apr 1998 I wrote "So, again, lets get
in touch and see how we can coordinate for APIS 2000." and on Mon, 13 Apr
1998 I added: "Our organisation team will meet again next Saturday and we
will discuss the Paris/Cologne question." However, you replied already on
Wed, 15 Apr 1998: "You don't need lose time with that, for us it's clear
now that you organize APIS 2000 in Cologne ." Who knows - maybe with such
an cooperation we may have had more success.
Anyway, I wish you good luck for your preparations for APIS 2001.
