Bill, don't worry; just grab some of your negatives that may have a
little too much contrast. There will be plenty of time to make proper
negatives later (and where you are now is not the time). Your current
negatives will work fine for demonstrating the Pt/Pd process. At some
point I would recommend disciplined study such as the Matrix outlined
step-by-step in the "Guide to Platinum Palladium Printmaking" on my web
site (link below). I firmly believe that the only way to make a good
negative for any process is to understand the print from the process
selected, what the negative contributes to that, what your seeing
contributes, and what you want to do.
As far as the instructor goes. If you don't like their work, be
skeptical of anything they say; if you admire their work, do exactly and
precisely as they say.
