I agree with Bill. I think that everyone is a teacher and everyone is a
student. If you do not like a particular teacher's/photographer's work then
it is your responsibility to ask yourself why you don't like it, or what
about it repels you. If you merely discount the person because of their
work then you may be losing out on some valuable insights from both the
teacher and insights about yourself. I remember years ago hearing a
particular album and I hated it. But a few years after I heard the album
again and loved it. My tastes had changed, my vision was different, I was a
different person. There is a great deal of modern art that I do not care
for, but I still go and see it, and try to figure out what is contained in
the work that I do not like. As Bill pointed out you may be able to take
something away, a technique, a display idea, something. Being open minded
is a good thing. In the end you can always decide that it is not worth your
time, but at least give it a chance to change you.
