Steve,

I have the FDC of Anchell and Troop but my pyrocatechin formula, which is
still being refined, is more like PMK, as regards development times and
characteristic curve, than Muir's variations on the Windsch formula or on
the experimental Pyrocatechin formulas in the FDC. What I am trying to get
is a developer that gives as much, but a more consistent stain than PMK,
which can also be used with minimal agitation. Pyrocatechin is considered
more stable than Pyrogallol and the formula I am working with seems less
susceptible to the streaking problems that appear so often with PMK. The
stain is approximately the same as with PMK, though the color is more of a
yellow/brown than the green/brown of PMK. Acutance is very high, at least
as high as I have been able to get with PMK.
