glass plates in Amsterdam

Collectors and others might be interested in this. I was in Amsterdam a
week ago and every morning there's a big flea market behind the Palace of
Justice. One guy, who seems to be a regular there, had all sorts of photo
stuff -- lots of photo albums circa 1930's, photopostcards and a HUGE
collection of glass plate negs (including some unexposed ones still in
their sealed boxes). I only had time to look at a few, but what gems. I've
seen some altphoto stuff done off historic negs and plates and for someone
interested in that kind of thing, if you're ever in Amsterdam, go have a
look. I know there's stuff like this around the states, but at this flea
market things cost a few dollars, not a few hundred. We saw some art deco
era chairs for $15 apiece that would've fetched ten times that here in SF.
So, too, for this photo stuff. (No, there weren't any 12x20's sitting
around for $20.)
