The expert drums are cylinders within a larger cylinder, very much like a
revolver chamber. You simply curl your film and slide it down into the
individual chambers, anywhere from 5 to 10 chambers in a drum depending on
the size of the film. The expert drums are by far the easiest to load. I
have a 3005 Expert Drum for my 8 x 10 film processing and it is too easy to
load and unload. My 4 x 5 is still done in a drum with a reel (2509N),
because I haven't yet decided to invest in to Expert Drum for 4 x 5 which
can hold ten sheets. My 3005 holds five sheets of 8 x 10. Both these types
of drums can be used in the Jobo machine or one motor bases, and some can
even be rolled effectively by hand, but not the 8 x 10 drum. If you have
any other question please let me know at any other question please let me know at gmphotos@earthlink.net. I love
Jobo.
