I thought members of this list might be interested in the following
photography competition. This is a very nice literary journal with
photographs published by Prescott College. It is printed in black and
white, hence the request for those types of images.

2000 National Photography Contest
Guidelines for Submission
Guest Judge: Lloyd Ziff
Alligator Juniper seeks quality black and white photography for publication
in its 6th annual issue. $500.00 prize awarded to the first place winner of
the photography contest; $200.00 prize awarded to the second place winner,
with other winners being published. Entrance fees: $10 for 1-5 prints; $20
for 6-10 prints (10 print maximum). All entrants receive the next issue, a
$7.50 value.
Our guest judge for this year, Lloyd Ziff is currently Creative Director of
Time Inc Custom Publishing. Besides his career as an art director, Ziff is
an accomplished photographer and teacher. His photographs have been
exhibited widely and featured in several magazines such as Blindspot,
Interview, Rolling Stone and Blur. Editors are published writers who teach
at Prescott College. Coordinator for the Photography Contest is a member of
the visual arts faculty at Prescott College.
Guidelines:
* Photographs must be black and white, unmounted, not exceeding 11 x 14
inches.
* Labeling should be placed on the back of each photograph, including;
your name, address, telephone number, title of
photograph, date made, and indication of top.
* Include a brief artist's statement, one that could be excerpted in the
credits of Alligator Juniper should your images be published.
* Appropriate packaging and return postage should be included for the
return of your photograph(s). Entries without return postage will be
discarded after judging.
* Include a nonrefundable check or money order, payable to Alligator
Juniper. Payment of fee does not guarantee that any/all photographs will be
included in this publication. Payment does guarantee that all entrants
receive a copy of our 2000 issue.
* Postmark deadline is December 1, 1999. Entries postmarked after that
date will be returned
unopened. We respond in late winter, and go to press in late spring,
returning winning entries in early summer.
* Prescott College reserves the right to publish winning images in
Alligator Juniper, and in any other College publication.
* Although we handle all entries with extreme care, we do not take
responsibility for any damage that may occur to submissions.

Founded in 1995, Alligator Juniper features contemporary poetry, fiction,
creative nonfiction, and photography. Single issues are $7.50.
Subscriptions are $12.00 for two years (i.e. two issues). Those who submit
work automatically receive that year's issue, so needn't subscribe that
year.
