Adam,

I've used PermaWash to clear prints, and it works---just barely. It's
adequate for clearing a plain lithium ziatype which is the easiest of
all Pt-type prints to clear. Using it double strength might help, but a
mix of EDTA and sodium sulphite works much better and is quite
reasonable in cost, ingredients available from the usual alt process
suppliers.
