Tom asked whether Connie McCabe at the National Gallery had talked about
dry plates. We didn't get into dry plates. She did say (as did others on
the list) that it is quite possible to use modern film to make negatives
that are appropriate to use with albumen paper. She also felt that the
commercially produced albumen paper was good to use and confirmed what I
had heard about the difficulties of handcoating with albumen.
