Gallery show in SFI may have missed it (I have not been able to read all postings to alt-photo in the past 5 weeks), but I don't believe that Gary has ever posted the so-called "controversial" image to a website for all of us to view, as I and others suggested. Another contributor to this list speculated that the photo in question is probably "homoerotic", and Gary has declined to post it to the web, citing fears of his imagery being pirated by pornographers. I'm curious to see Gary's work, and being in Northwestern Wyoming, have virtually no chance of visiting a gallery in San Francisco. I would like to believe that his photos are NOT homosexual pornography.

Gary, why not prove the merit of your work to everyone who can't travel to San Francisco, but does have access to the internet?

I wish you the best success with your exhibit. If your photos are half as good as your knack for self-promotion, they'll be a hit.

Best regards,

For those of you in the San Francisco Bay area I would like to let you know that my show, 'Mirrors; A photographic reflection on the human figure and ourselves' is now on display at the 625 Gallery, 625 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA from December 3-15. The show contains 15 constructions of life size human nude figures of men and women. The constructions are made up of approximately 20 16"x20" silver gelatin prints that form a larger than life size figure measuring about 4 feet across and 8 feet high. The show has been brewing some controversy for the past weeks and more is expected in the next few. Gallery hours are M-F 9:00 am-10:00 pm, S-S 10:00 am-5:00 pm. The gallery phone is 415-274-2229.

An opening reception will be held Wednesday, December 6 from 6-10 pm. I hope to see some of the local alternative people there.
