Actually here's a much better analogy for the difference between pva-gum
prints and gum-arabic-gum prints:
A painting made using acrylic paints and a painting made using oil
paints may have a very similar appearance and be created using similar
methods, but they are different in composition, the materials handle
differently, and they are compatible with different media.
