One very important point that hasn't been mentioned is that insects,
particularly silverfish, just love the starch coating. They do, of course,
seem to feed on paper, but actually they dine mostly on the sizing. Usually
the gelatins use some kind of a hardening agent, which they don't like, and
the synthetic materials (like the acrylics) they have no taste for. But
they do like starches.
