borax toner "recipe"
here's my question.. does the borax laundry booster work?
if you can't find the recipe, i've got it right here...
400 ml ..... water (38 degrees C or 100F)
3 grams .... borax
6 ml ....... 1% solution of gold chloride
dissolve the borax in the hot water first, then add the gold.
allow it to cool to 21C or 70F, prepare it an hour before use and store it
in a brown bottle.
it'll keep, but with use you'll need to add gold to it.
tone time 6-12 minutes, the more time, the colder the color..
it says it's difficult to judge the final tone before it's fixed and dried.

Gwen,
Borax gold toner is to be found in "Keepers of Light." Look in
the salted paper print section. If you can't find it, let me know and
I will look it up.
With VDB it makes the brown hue a darker brown.
I fix the VDB first with a mild fixer and wash it and then tone.
