The situation does not seem as bad as it first appeared though. It seems like
his auto responses recognize senders and doesn't re-generate the response if
he receives a message from the list which the original sender is himself, so
we won't really have infinite responses (at least it doesn't appear so to me).
However, if he receives a message by someone else, it will generate a message
(so you will see another auto response from him after my message). Given that
the list is quiet over this weekend, it might be ok, hopefully.
In case what I described above is true, then one possible solution is that we
avoid posting messages (unless urgent) until he or Gord comes back, or unless
you don't mind seeing "I'll never see your message" again and again. :-)
