One thing to remember about the Epson is that the printhead is built in to the printer, while on the HP it is part of the disposable ink cartridge. The Epsons seem to have a habit of developing clogged printheads if left unused for a month or two. (no, I'm not the only one that this has happened to) After seeing my Epson Stlyus 400 turned into a paperweight just because we took a two month vacation, I bought an HP.
