Well, gee. I have been using view cameras since 1964. Have owned Speed and
Super Graphics, Kodak D2, Sinar F, Wista 4x5, Wisner 5x7, and currently have
a monrail 5x7 and a Calumet 8x10. All have knobs, the only time I have ever
been pinched was with a borrowed Canham 5X7, when I lowered the front
standard and tilted it. Perhaps Mr. Richardson's fingers are more easily
torn, but I have never had this experience with knobs. The tilt knobs on
the Calumet are 4-point "+" shaped, and a bit easier to use with gloves on,
perhaps if you live in region where the temp is below freezing bars may
prove easier with gloves on. YMMV.
