I'll just add to Judy's notes re Doug Kennedy's frames and William Linne's
comment also. I personally attest to superb quality of the Kennedy frame.
Doug's wife, Melissa Harris, ran our photo lab @ the S.F. Art Institute for
a few years until recently. Doug made us a number of frames Š in fact I was
using three last night in my Materials & Methods class doing salt prints.
These frames are made of good wood well put together w/a stainless locking
device that hooks on to washers, hence you never run into the hinge (or
clip) slowly eating away at your wood. Carefully used they will last a
lifetime and always hold their value if that is at all important to you.
If our frames stand up to the use of dozens of students per semester w/out
a trace of wear, that is a GOOD product.
As a small note, Doug is superb and careful craftsman and also creates
wonderful miniature sculptures of wonder. Melissa, his wife, is a dear and
has one wicked sense of humor.
