Regarding the scanners Judy was speaking of, the UMAX folks had a
top-of-the-line Powerlook III which has a 3.4 Dmas & 42-bit color output.
It is now discontinued but can be purchased @ their store for $600.
The transparency adapter unfortunately is another $350 Š the adapter will
scan 35mm @ 1200 dpi but if you do any thing larger than that it is really
superb.
Overall, for about $1000 this is a very good all around tool. It used to
cost over $3500 about a year or so ago.
