Sorry for the incomplete (earlier) post.

Are you using roll or sheet Tri-X - it makes a difference. Also, what
temperature? The best way to proceed is to experiment and keep good
records. There is no perfect negative; although I think all negs should
be processed so they show good shadow detail. Then go from there. Since
you are using an alt process, the speed and tonal range of your
particular batch  of paper is going to be different than others. This
impacts the type of negative you will use. The key is to experiment and
record the results.
