I have also had problems with paper not returning to a consistent dimension for
multi-coat gum. My print that recently went around in the 2000C traveling
portfolio suffered from this fate to some extent.

Keep in mind that if paper would expand/shrink perfectly in the wetting/drying
process it would lay perfectly flat when dried. I've never seen it do that.
The paper always warps to some extent due to different parts of the paper
expanding/shrinking by different amounts. Maybe it does so consistently after a
few cycles. Maybe not. I think Dave is probably onto something (although it
seems like I've heard similar suggestions before?).

Earlier this year I made an attempt at Richard Sullivan's method of pre-mounting
the paper onto a plastic substrate (1/8" Lexan as I remember) using a releasable
mounting tissue (Seal Fusion 4000). But I couldn't get the tissue to adhere
properly to the plastic. Anyone else tried this?
