It narrowly fails the under-$400 test, but I like my Canon
Digital Elph. It's small enough I actually carry it, and
provides a reasonable image.
But the camera is about $450, and a larger memory card
would be another $50-$100 (it comes with an 8Mb card,
which will hold about 60-80 lossy 640x480 pics, or
about 60 at the lowest-loss 1600x1200 rez).
