A split? just because you were first?

I plan on following Microsoft's lead. Copy something , promote it, and let
my lawyers handle the rest;<)

I have been reminded that one can tell a "pioneer" by the arrow's in their
back. So in recent life, being first with something seems not to be the
optimum solution. Can this be true in Alt photo as well? I think the only
pioneer who made out well was Dagu... How ever one spells his name. The
others seem to have succumbed to the promoter first, photographer second.
As I write this it seems this is true across many areas of our society where
self promotion is more important than actual results.
