Hi George,

"Winsor Blue" is W&N's brand name for Thalo Blue (or Phtalocyanine Blue).

You might be interested in a book called "The Wilcox Guide to the Finest
Watercolor Paints." While you might not agree with everything in the book, it
does list the pigment content of many brands of watercolor paints.

As for red or green shade of Thalo Blue, if your main/important subject
contains brilliant purple, use the red shade; if it contains green, use the
green shade. That is, if you want to emphasis the saturation instead of
subduing it, otherwise you can use the reverse.

Wilcox's another book "Yellow and Green Don't Make Yellow" is a good one too.
It is mainly for painter, but the color mixing concept is general and good.
