Our mixer man is my son Dana. Actually he hates making the stuff so he has
gone beyond his own wishes in promoting it. Both Stan Klimek and Stuart
Melvin use the mixed up powder for their gum over platinums. Klimek is
doing pure gums for a big timer (I don't think I should say who, but he/she
is well known and published.) Klimek is using the wet mix from powder as
well. This is the first in modern times that I know of where an atelier
edition has been pulled in gum. Both these gents have mastered gum and give
a great deal of credit to Stephen Livick. Both took his on line class on my
discussion group.

Meridel Rubenstein (b. 1948) is a well known photographer based here in
Santa Fe. A Guggenheim (maybe 2?) and lots of artist in residence
positions. She is one of the most effective teachers I know. I taught a
year long class with her in alt at the Institute of American Indian Arts
(IAIA) here in Santa Fe and all I can say is she is a terrific teacher. Do
a google search on her and you'll see lots of her work out there. She came
out of U of New Mexico under Van Deren Coke. Her work still maintains some
photographic connection but he has branched out over the years into
sculpture and other forms of real art. (Oooh! did I say that?)

Great story! I was lucky enough to have met and worked with Frank on a
number of occasions. He lived in the San Fernando Valley like I did and he
donated time, money and performances to help in the anti-war movement.
Remember his daughter Moon Zappa doing "Valley Girl", fer sher fer sher,
gag me with a spoon! It proves that Elay was not the cultural wasteland it
was thought to be. Frank died of prostate cancer. Was a great supporter of
progressive causes and the slight contact I had with him revealed a
powerful intellect. He was a good friend of the conductor Zubin Mehta and I
saw him sitting in the audience with Zubin at a classical concert at UCLA's
Royce Hall more than once. Not your ordinary rocker. An untimely death for
a rocker and one not drug related. Fer shame.

I digress.

Ok, call your mixes Brahma Pigs. Put a little oinker on the label.
