Of course we'll all suffer book envy, tho obviously there's a limit to the
copying Dave can do. I wonder if publisher can be reached & would agree to
web posting, as the Albumen Salted Paper book is.

At Kremer yesterday on Elizabeth Street I found other books about pigment.
One is "Colors, The Story of Dyes and Pigments," $12.95 (it was mentioned
on this list without the word "colors" and so didn't turn up immediately
in Barnes & Noble computer). So far my "review"is mixed... but not
finished yet.

Kremer also has the now 3-volume set, soon to be 4 volumes, "Artists'
Pigments... an interdisciplinary study on artist materials through the
ages." Flipping through volume 2, I somehow felt I didn't need this book,
not relevant for my purposes, but then I was in the middle of a fevered
political discussion, as does happen when 3 New Yorkers get in a room
together. Volume 1 is out of print, being reprinted. Volume 3 is so far
only in hard cover, $50.

Other books on view included the latest editions of both the Mayer and the
Doerner (beide auf Englisch). Actually, a lot of the new editions covers
acrylic & other synthetics. For our purposes an older edition might be
preferable.
