It's been a very long time but I remember we would change the rods in the
plateburner every couple of days and we made at least a dozen plates a day
with a two to three minute burn each. With occasional use they will last a
good while. Is the machine self adjusting or do you have to strike the arc
manually? Be really careful with your eyes as this is the same kind of
light an arc welder makes. Be sure the connections are very tight as a
loose one will burn up quickly from the amp load.
