Dektol, generally regarded as a print developer, when diluted 1:31 can give
some good results with fine grain films...similar to D76 at 1:1. There was
a paper published in the Journal of Biological Photography (I have it
hidden around here somewhere) where various film developers such as D76,
Rodinal (and I think, HC110) were compared/ranked alongside diluted Dektol.
Dectol at 1:31 turned out to be rather an economical "sleeper".
Developing time will be in the range of 16 to 20 minutes at 68°F.
