Dear List,
Tonight I've mixed a batch of VDB solution using the following formula:
Solution A:
Ferric Ammonium Citrate 9.0 gm
Distilled Water 33.0 ml
Solution B:
Tartaric Acid 1.5 gm
Distilled Water 33.0 ml
Solution C:
Silver Nitrate 3.8 gm
Distilled Water 33.0 ml
After weighing and mixing each solution (under safelights) I slowly mix A
and B throughly. Then I add part C slowly to the first mix while stirring.
The result is a milky green solution which I've poured into a storage
bottle. After filling the container a large amount of percipitate rests on
the bottom of the bottle. I don't recall seeing this in previous mixes. Is
this normal? Will the sludge dissolve?
Thanks,
Don Bryant
