I made a pinhole cyanotype today, and I am trying to judge whether I exposed
the negative correctly. The shadows look a little too dark. But this could
be either because I overexposed the print or underexposed the negative.
What I am wondering is, if you print a step tablet with the print and use it
to judge the print exposure, how dark should the third step be? Should you
still be able to read the numeral 3, for example? The three is visible,
but barely. (Usually I use a densitometer to answer that question, but it's
in Houston.)
