It is true that anciently used dyes are not expensive. Erythrosin,
pynacyanol etc etc
Again, choosing one recommended by H.W.SANDS will save you a lot of
time.
I personnaly wouldn't like to spend time playing with chlorophyll, this
might end up in doubling the time budget, and maybe discouraging people.
The idea is nice tough.
About chlorophyll, I have the intuition that it gives sensitivity in the
visible region, but a poor sensitivity. Isn't it ?

Making silver halide emulsion is requiring a lot of motivation and
perseverance, an awful lot. One better idea could be to have your plates
made by Ilford. The cost balance might be interesting.
On the other hand, making your own stuff is magic. Getting a first
result with plates is frankly easy.

Those who want to start to test it and are facing problems may ask me
for guidance sometimes.

PS: and maybe collodion is simpler.
