I can't imagine how high they can go. The lexmark Z65 claims 4800 DPI.
Pretty hard to see any dots up close and it is a 4 color printer. I think
the real question is how small the can make a dot on a piece of paper. My
600 dpi laserprinter still does a better jog at sharp black than my 2880
epson.
