follow-up: realized I had a recent test set handy.
With straight palladium on Lenox developed in potassium oxalate, using my
vacuum frame which has a thick, grey glass that gives 25-30% slower
exposures than a spring frame with window glass, at 9 minutes the first
Stauffer step to emerge (just barely) from dmax is number four. Last step to
separate away from pure white is 16 or 17 depending on how hard you squint
at it. A 12 minute exposure moves the whole scale almost exactly one step
higher.---Carl
