The vacuum gage is unnecessary, though you may want to put a bleeder valve
on the line. Most pumps put too much of a vacuum on the frame, leading to
crinkled paper. 20psi seems to be just about right, and a gage can help
assure the right pressure. However, once the bleeder valve is correctly
adjusted, the gage serves no further useful purpose.
