Please *DON'T* unless you understand what you are doing!!

Xenon arcs in general have one of 3 types of envelope.

A The `safe' visible only

B UV transparent (Ozone free)

C Totally UV transparent. These ones allow light in the 220 to 190 nM
  range out, and will form Ozone from Oxygen in the air!

If it has an outer bulb, it is almost certain that the inner is type B
or C. Also, they are under a fair pressure and can fail from scratches
or from etching. Added hazard is that the inner envelope will have
been designed to be protected by the outer, and will be less robust
than one designed for bare operation.

And as has been mentioned, the UV will fry your eyes quick smart, and
may cause burns as well. Hey, it is an ARC remember...
