For hanging large sheet film, I find the metal clamps attached to a
rubber hoop sold by Ikea to be absolutely perfect. They grab just a
tiny corner of your film, and hangs perfectly attached to a rod. Not
cheap, but cheaper and better than the X-Ray clips made by Kodak.

Anyone crazy enough to work with 20x24 inch negatives deserve to get
some paper on the floor before learning not to trust wooden cloth
pins.
