The comments about the frame bring to mind an image by Joyce Tennyson wherein the female subject holds an elongated frame against her naked torso with the effect of it framing a phallic form within the female. Several Man Ray's and Weston's and Morey's (sp?) and others define similar phallic shapes within the female form. So, perhaps these images speak to a more universal, collective, and mythical symbol than the casual glance would suggest.
And those Veruschka pics...supermodel icon eliminating the collective projection upon her by intentionally fading into the mundane and decaying. Alchemical. Love it.
Can't find the same interest in old Halfdome, with or without the moon.
